New Video Up for "You're a Part of This" This was a school project in which i spent about 20 hours just downloading images through google image. I am truly grateful for all the people who took the time to capture these fantastic photographs. And in no way am I taking any credit for any of them.
After compiling about 500 pictures, i spent many hours sequencing them in a trial version of Adobe Flash. The footage was shot in my friend matt's living room with green posterboard in place of a green screen. Matt then shot me running through the song about 6 times and then rendered new files keying out the green, most of it anyway. He then imported all the files into aftereffects and did some lighting work, which I love. And then doing some sweet edits. On the subject of the flashing images, I used google image, searching with keywords like 1979, 1982, city, india, metropolis, money, food, stuff, ect. It was the strangest feeling after searching for a few hours. A bit disturbing, which is kind of the point of the video, saturation.
The song just sort of came to me on the spot live, improvising to hard disk. This was one of my brother's (Cepia - Ghostly International) favorite songs of the record and suggested that it be the opener on "The us in orange." He spent quite a bit of his own time mastering it at his new mastering studio HM Mastering, and charged me a favorable rate. It sounds fantastic.
