I played the new Telefon Tel Aviv for someone tonight. I told her it was a duo from Chicago, and that I saw them play a show at First Ave with Grid(Cepia and JT Bates of Fat Kid Wednesdays). I neglected to tell her that Charlie Cooper, one half of Telefon Tel Aviv was recently deceased. I was curious of the role that something like that plays in the decision making process of whether or not someone enjoys a recording.
