Midwestern prairie land was one of the largest biomes in the world.
In the 19th century Bison which grazed the prairie, were exterminated for two reasons:
Facilitate agriculture
Starve Indians
By the 20th century, nearly all prairies, bison, and traditionally living native Americans were exterminated.
By the 21st century: mcdonalds
